ON WRONG BOAT
LADIES' LUGGAGE
RECOVERY BY AEROPLANE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day.
' Three Melbourne ladies who joined the Monterey at Sydney made the disconcerting discovery that their luggage had not been placed on the vessel. They ascertained by radio that their effects, which were in fourteen packages had been mistakenly placed on the Awatea which left Sydney for Wellington on the same day as the Monterey left for Auckland. The Auckland agent received a wireless request from Melbourne to have the luggage brought from Wellington to connect with the Monterey and an aeroplane left Wellington with the luggage after the Awatea had berthed.
The aeroplane is expected to arrive at Mahgere Aerodrome at 4 o'clock1 and will be met by two cars. A launch will rush the luggage to the Monterey in the stream, the vessel having been delayed for two hours. ''
