E.S.U. FAREWELL
Members of the English-speaking Union Travel and Discussion Club met recently at the Farmers' Institute to bid farewell to Miss Ruth Mills, the club's secretary, • who is leaving for a trip to England and the Continent, and expects to be absent from New Zealand for a year. On behalf of the club, the chairman, Mr. 'Keruse, presented .Miss Mills with a fountain pen in appreciation of her valuable services since the formation of the club. Miss Mills was wished a pleasant trip and it was hoped she would give a talk on the countries visited on returning to New Zealand. Mrs. A. Burnard and Miss W. Walker served a delightful supper.
Among members presejit were Mrs. D. V. Claridge, Mrs. Burnard, Mrs. Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Gordon, Miss Mills, Miss Walker, Miss D. Perkins, Mr. E. Anscombe, and Mr. Keruse.
