GIFT EVENING
Mrs. V. Perkins and Miss R. Boyd were joint hostesses at a miscellaneous gift evening at the latter's home in Kelburn recently in honour of Miss Ararua Hammill and Mr. Arnold Andrews, whose marriage will take place shortly. , Musical items, dances, and competitions were much enjoyed by the many friends of the young couple, as also were the mystifying conjuring tricks performed by Mr. Leo Perkins. After a delicious buffet supper the numerous parcels of useful and attractive gifts were opened by the bride-elect. Mr. Andrews then expressed the appreciation of his fiancee and himself to their hostesses for the happy, evening, and to their friends for their gifts and good wishes.
