RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Molly Direct, who scored her maiden success at Auckland on Wednesday, is a three-year-old chestnut filly by Jack Potts from Tairene, who has been a regular producer of high-class winners. Two good stayers among her progeny were Dundas Boy, 4min 22 3-ssec, and Trenand, 4min 29 l-ssec. Real Girl, 2min 12 2-ssec, was a very useful mare over all distances, and Belle Lorimer, 2min .15 l-ssec, won races at both gaits. Dundee, 3min 19 l-ssec, was a most promising young pacer until he was affected by an internal strain. Lucky Jack, a year older full-brother to Molly Direct, has been a good winner this season over all distances, and his success over two miles in 4min 29 2-ssec at Ashburton on Boxing Day speaks well for his staying potentialities.
