The backmarPctsr, Red Shadow, relished the heavy and assumed the lead from the pac amaker Smooger near the home turn and won very easily by four lengths from Smooger, who was five length R better than King's Warrior. Prince Pedro led into.the straight and stayed on to win from the fast-finishing Bonny Azure, who-made a slow beginning. Smooger was fourth.
