PROTEST AND REPLY
SEIZURE OF THE SOTON REPRISAL AGAINST PALOS INCIDENT (Received January 2, 2.30 p.m.) SANTANDER,'January 1. The Governor sent a wireless message to the captain of the Koenigsberg protesting against the seizure of the ship Soton as an act of aggression and demanding the immediate release of; the crew, who have been taken prisoners contrary to international law. The ■■■ captain replied that the seizure was a reprisal for the illegal detention of the passenger and part of the cargo aboard the German ship Palos. Ha added that the Soton did not obey, orders to stop.
