HOLIDAY IN SYDNEY , (Received January 2, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A Highland gathering at the Sydney Show Ground was the main attraction on New Year's Day. The weather was bright and sunny until the late afternoon, when a thunderstorm swept the city, and the rain continued to fall till late last night, spoiling the holiday. Sir Harry Lauder was a distinguished guest at the Highland gathering, and finished a happy speech with a son< which put the crowd in great heart.
