SECRETARY RETIRING
Owing to business demands on his time, it is" understood, Mr. H. McCormick proposes to resign from, the position of- honorary secretary and treasurer of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, and that he will be .communicating this to the annual meeting tonight. "
The dual position involves a/considerable amount of work, and it has alWays been' characteristic of, Mr.:;McCormick that -what, he tackles he' likes doing well. He has been- rushed' for titrie; lately, and feels it desirable,; that he; ; ;!should'-yacate the office,^although it'is understood; that he is prepared to carry/on' fora time until someone else is-.appointed. ■ " """ , ■
Mr. Mc'Cormick,.. .who- -is -also' the chairman of the New-Zealand Olympic and British. Empire Games' Association Council, is well ■ known in' amateur athletic circles in New Zealand, but particularly in Wellington, where' he has rendered very valuable service. He has been honorary secretaryrtreasurer of,the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association since the retirement of Mr. L. A. Tracy from the position early in May last year.
