N.I.M.U. PRESIDENT FINED
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. For breaking the 15 m.p.h. motor regulations governing intersections in built-up areas, W. A. O'Callaghan, of Hawera, president of the North Island Motor Union, and a member of the ■National Safety First Committee, was fined £1 with 10s costs hi the Magistrate's Court yesterday. The offence occurred at the junction of Church Street with the Square and in entering a plea of guilty, counsel said that Mr. O'Callaghan had no recollection of having broken the regulation. Senior-Sergeant Moriarty said that there was little traffic about at the time.
