WEDDINGS

VAUGHAN—JACKSON. The wedding was solemnised recently at the Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, of Hazel, younger daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. H. Jackson, Wellington, and -Ja-fies A. Vaughan, Palmerston North. The Rev. T. R. Richards performed the ceremony, and Mr. Temple White , presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated by. a cousin and friends of the bride, .where arum lilies, Iceland poppies, and a wedding bell made an attractive settihgfor the' bridal party. During .the signing of the register a vocal item was rendered by Mrs. H. Chapman. The bride, who was escorted,by her uncle, Mr. Irvine Morley, Hastings, was in a frock of ivory uncrushable velvet, cut- on classical lines, With a long fan train. She wore a gold' necklet and brooch, and a veil, of Brussels net, which fell l gracefully ; to the hem of her gown. An arm shower .bouquet of white irises tied with gold ribbon completed the bride's .'ensemble. The bridesmaid, Miss Hazel Morley, Hastings (cousin of the bride), was in a Marinavblue : chiffon velvet"trained frock trimmed with a gold sash, and a Hat. of blue velvet decorated with, a gold rose. A delightful contrast was her arm shower bouquet of daffodils and maidenhair fern. Her necklace of pearls.was the gift,of the bridegroom. Mr. Maurice, Hartley was best man, and Messrs. H. A reception was held in the Jacohean rooms of Kirkcaldie and Stains. The tables were beautifully decorated with low baskets and vases of daffodils and ferns. The toasts were interspersed with vocal items, given by Mrs. Grace Walpole and Wor. E. Lr. Howe, Mr. W. Walpole being the accompanist. The guests were received by-the bride's mother and sister, assisted by Mrs. Cook (aunt of the bridegroom). Mrs. Jackson wore a gown of black uncrushable diagonal satin -with a smart three-quarter length.coat of black velvet and a velvet hat. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and cyclamen. Miss Hilda Jackson (sister of the' bride) was in a frock ot brown chiffon velvet finished with a necklet of velvet and lame roses. Her hat was of a brown straw trimmed with autumn and gold flowers.- Mrs. Cook (aunt of the bridegroom) was: dressed in a Lido blue ensemble with a pink straw- hat. .She carried a bouque]t of autumn tinted flowers. ,

- Mr. and Mrs. James Vaughan left later by car for- an extended tour of. the.North Island, the bride travelling in a brown wool georgette . frock trimmed with gold lame, a smart velour hat, and a fur coat, the gift of the bridegroom. BRINGANS—ASTON. A wedding recently solemnised was that of Miss Ngaire Aston to Mr. Duncan Bringans. The ceremony took place at St. Andrew's Church, when the Rev. A.! B. Kilroy officiated and Mr. F. Thomas presided at the organ. During the signing of the register Mrs. Sincock sang a solo. Mr. E. Gregory was. best man and Mr. V. Sando'groomsman.

The brjde, who was escorted by her grandfather,- Mr. J. Aston, wore a charming gown of magnolia satin with an overdress of angel-skin lace. The train was formed from a rucked godet,. and she wore a large tulle hat swathed with velvet ribbons. A sheaf of arum lilies was carried.

The bridesmaids, Misses Irene Mahoney and' Gwen .Bringans, were dressed alike in blue satin frocks with an overdress of angel-skin lace and long pink, sashes. They wore blue tulle caps covered with blue and pink velvet flowers and carried pink and blue muffs.

The refception was held at the Na : tional Club, where masses of blue hyacinths anil pink sweet peas formed the decoration. The cake, also in pink and blue, was made by the bridegroom's mother. During the reception Mrs. G. Castle gave several appropriate items. ■

The guests,were received by Mrs. Agton. .(Wearing a French model frock of dusky pink boucle cloth), arid .'was assisted by Mrs. Bringans (who wore a gown, of wine iace with wide bands of fawn fox fur). Later.Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Bringans left for a tour of the South Island by aeroplane, the bride travelling in a navy tailored suit, skunk stole, and navy sailer hat..

SEXTUS—NEILSON. The wedding of Annie Bowie (Nan), twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Neilson, Miramar, to Russell Kenneth, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Sextus, of Stratford, attracted many friends to St. Giles's. Presbyterian Church, Kilbirnie, Wellington where ijt was solemnised recently. The Rev. E. J. Orange officiated, and the wedding j music was played by Miss D. Robson. While the register was being signed Mrs. W. Stirrat sang a solo. The b#ide, who was escorted by. her father« Wore a gown of off-white angel silk lace over honey-coloured satin, cut on classical lines with a graceful train. Her veil of tulle'was held in position by clusters of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white sweet peas, irises', „and' freesias. The bridesmaids, Miss M. L. Neilson (sister of the bride) and Miss N. Cook, were dressed-alike in frocks of Marina green phantom crepe with dusty pink felt hats. 'Each wore; a crystal necklace, the present of the bridegroom, and carried a beautiful bouquet, of Iceland poppies, camellias, and malden,hair fern. Mr, H. M. Mouat, Palmerston North, was best man, Mr. 3'. J. 'Bennett, Wellington, groomsman, and Messrs. G. and A. Mackay ushers. A reception was held at the Airport Tearooms, guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a navy, blue pinspot mattcrepe frock-with' a smart navy blue coat and hat to .match. She carried a bouquet of freesias with maidenhair fern. ' When' Mr. and Mrs. Sextus left later for the north the bride was wearing a brown sand crepe frock with matching hat and brown accessories. Their future home will.be in Stratford.'"
