WRONG NAME GIVEN
SEQUEL TO CLUB RAID For giving a false name and address, being a person found in the Victoria Club, 4 Willis Street, on March 12, when the premises were being used as a common gaming-house, Galvin Davey was fined £2 and costs by Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Detective N. W. Bayliss and Detec-tive-Sergeant E. C. Jarrold gave evidence to the effect that Davey gave his name as Roy Phillips, and his address as 168 Willis Street. He was subsequently fined £2 and costs when he appeared in the Magistrate's Court following the raid, but did not pay the fine and could not be located. He was finally traced on July 14, when he admitted the offence.
