PIGEON RACING

The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew its weekly race on' Saturday from Waiouru, an airline of 129 miles. Ninety birds competed, representing ten lofts. The birds were liberated at 10 a.m. by the stationmaster, who advised that the weather^ was fine but overcast, with a north-west wind.
