GATHERING AT KELBURN

Banner) the large attenci- -t ance-of "fathers" at the "mothers and : fathers" meeting of the Kelburn branch ] of the League of Mothers held recently was definitely pleasing. ] Mrs. H. Dawson, emphasising the great loss the League of Mothers had sustained through her death. Members anrl visitors stood in silence as a tribute : to her memory. ■....;: It was. announced that the annual meeting would be held next month and nominations were asked for all executive offices and six new members of committee. It was mentioned that an appeal for discarded woollies or . old sox or woollen stockings, also oddments of cretonne or print had been received from the Hospital Almoner. Theso old garments will be made into rues for bed covers for those in distress in the city. \ An interesting address on "Primary School Education" was given by Mr. O. A. Banner, a vote of thanks being moved by Mr. R. H. D. Hall. A short musical programme was con- ' tributcd to by the glee club, which made its debut under the conductor- [ ship of Mrs. Kearney. Duets were " given by Misses E. Ballinger and C. R ; Spurdle, solos by Mrs. W.- C. Burd - and recitation by Mrs. D. J. Fyfe. Thtt [ piano accompaniments were played ' by Mrs. Gittings and Miss E. Ballir ger. Supper was served by the tea .. committee under the direction of Mrs. . Coles.
