PETONE-HUTT GAS BOARD

The meeting of the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board last evening was presided over by Mr. W. G. Lodder.

The works manager (Mr. C. Shaw), in his report for June, stated that the gas manufactured was 10,018.000 cubic feet, which was an. increase of 255.000 cubic feet over June, 1935, and a decrease of 122.000 cubic feet compared with May of. this year. The average make per ton was 15,110 cubic feet.

In his report for June, the secretary (Mr. O. Silbery) stated that 31 new services, 19 new cookers, 5 builders' cookers, 12 coppers, 7 caliphonts, 12 gas fires, 2 hotplates, and 40 new meters were installed. The number of cookers renewed was 11.

It was decided to donate £2 2s to the Petone Memorial Technical College.

The chairman was appointed to attend the further conference of local bodies in the Hutt Valley on amalgamation.
