In the House of Commons the Secretary for "War, Mr. A. Duff-Cooper. announced the appointment of ViceAdmiral Harold Brown as DirectorGeneral of Munitions Production and an additional member of the Army Council, charged with, co-ordinating and expediting the output of munitions. ,

Vice-Admiral Sir Harold Brown was born in 1878, and is a son of Mr. J. J. Brown. He has been Engineer-in-Chief of the Fleet at the Admiralty since 1932. He was knighted two years ago.
