RIGOROUS MEASURES
ENFORCING POLICY
FRENCH GOVERNMENT
THREATS
PARIS, July 13.
The Government has prepared rigorour measures to enforce the acceptance of its policy. M. Faure, Minister without portfolio, referring to the baby bond appeal, said': "If the loan does not bring what we hope we shall mobilise the peoples' fortunes."
Business men throughout France were summoned by telegraph by the Minister to attend a meeting to discuss the rising cost of living. He will require them to explain price increases which threaten to defeat the benefits of the new labour legislation. Prosecutions are being launched against profiteers.
