The "Sun-Herald" news agency is informed that a defect in a petrol feed pipe twice caused a stoppage of the engine of Lord Sempill's aeroplane on the interrupted night to Australia, and that ■ only superhuman efforts by a mechanic prevented a crash. Extra tanks have been scrapped and new auxiliary petrol carriers are being fitted. ' .
