ABOLISHED
GENERAL DISMISSED
(Received July 14, 2.30 p.m.)
SHANGHAI, July 13. The Central Executive Committee has decided to abolish, the South-west Political Council and to dismiss General Chen Chi-tang from the command of the Kwantung army.
A cable from Canton published yesterday stated that General Chen Chitang, leader of the Kwantung forces, had deserted with the first army to the Central Government, thus crippling the attack on the latter. General Hanmou, Chen Chi-tang's emissary to the Central Government, announced his own allegiance to Nanking.
