MORNINGTON CLUB
The principal events during the weekend- a.t Berhampore were the Stephen Trophy for the A division and the McWhirter trophy for the B, division, both 18-hole bogey competitions. H. J. Shanks displayed some of his old form to carry off the A division with - a card of 3 up, the next best cards being J. Hill, McJ. McElligott, and D. B. Stratmore each 1 down, L. W. McGirr and C. E. Petersen each two down, F. W. Andrews 3 down. In the B division L; J. Nicolson, H. B. Craighead, and R. W. Williams tied for first place with cards of 3 down and will play off for the trophy at a dater date.
The 18-hole stroke competition was won by R. Pattison 83, 21—62, the next best cards being R. Smith 75, 11—64 A..V. O'Brien 89, 23—66, W. Taylor 78, 12—66, Geo. Estall 86, 20—66, C Jacobi 83, 16—67. W. Coy 80, 13—67, F. W. Andrews 80, 11—69, H. R. Baigent 87, 18—69, D. B. Stratmore 75, 6—60.
