Claimed to be a record shipment 288 bales of rabbitskins were transferred from a local store to the wharf for loading on to the Canadian Cruiser, me skins are consigned to New York f?r e nnnan^. are ' valued at nearly £56,000. Twenty-one motor, electric and horse-drawn lorries were requisitioned for the purpose of transporting the consignment to the ship's ' side This cavalcade made an imposing sight as it moved along the streets and considerable interest was shown by passers-by. J
Rabbiters have been obtaining good prices this winter, up to 2s 6d a skin being received.
