PIGS AND POULTRY.
The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports an extra large yarding of pigs at their weekly pig fair on Saturday, there being in all a clearance of over 300 pigs. Prices in the main were . satisfactory and showed • a decided increase on those obtained at the previous week's sale. Realisations were as follows: —Small weaners, 7s to 12s; best weaners. up to 16s; slips, 15s to 18s; stores, to 25s 6d; porkers, 28s to 33s 6d; 1 sow to farrow, £4; baconers, 47s Gd to 52s 6d. There was also a heavy demand for poultry, all lines being cleared at prices satisfactory to sellers. Realisations were as follows: —White hens, 5s 4d to 6s per pair; black hens, 6s to 7s 6d; cockerels, 5s to 7s; ducks, 5s to 6s 8d; geese, 3s 6d to 5s 6d each; turkey gobblers, 7s to 10s 6d; turkey hens, 6s to 8s each..
