DEMAND FOR DAIRY CATTLE.
Dalgcty and Co:, Ltd..-' report that good entries in all sections came to hand. Fat lambs sold readily, fully to schedule prices, whilst both fat wethers and ewes met strong competition with a good sale, best ewes bringing 25s lOd. There were some nice-quality breeding ewes entered, mostly full mouth, but reliable ewes. The sale was inclined to drag a little at the opening and several lines were passed in at auction, but were sold privately immediately afterwards. The sale in this section, can be described as fair only. A nominal entry of hoggets attracted a lot, of attention, ewe hoggets particularly selling to a keen demand. Wether hoggets also sold firmly with an upward tendency. ' > A smaller entry of dairy cattle was j yafded, but prices showed a far keener [demand, and we report a very suceess- [ ful sale in this section. ■ In the beef [section there was-a. large yarding of station cattle and well-finished beasts sold better than last week, but plainer sorts were mostly secured by graziers. Dairy beef sold also to a slightly bet- [ ter demand. There were a few pens lof station cattle offered and these also j sold well at auction. !
