Friday's closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows those for July 3 being shown in parentheses:— Cotton: Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 7.13 d a 1b (6.65 d); August delivery, 7.08 d a lb (6.59 d). Rubber: Para, 9§d a lb (Old); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7^d a lb (same). Jute: July-August shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £16 3s lid a ton (£l6 16s 3d). Copra: July-August shipment, South Sea to London or Rotterdam, £12 15s a ton (£l2 10s); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £12 10s a ton (£l2 ss); plantation Rabaul, to London or Rotterdam, £13 15s a ton (£l3 10s) ■ Linseed oil: £25 a ton (£2B 10s). Turpentine: 39s 9d a cwt (38s Gd). TRICE OF EGGS. First grade eggs were quoted on the Wellington wholesale market lodav at Is 4d to Is 5d a dozen.

There was a heavy, yarding of store sheep, and an average yarding of lats at the i'eilding sale on Friday. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that the store sheep section was comprised chiefly of aged breeding ewes rw. S.D. ram with a fair penning of both ewe and wether noggets. The demand for breeding ewes was not so keen as at last weak sale, with a strong demand for both ewe and wether hoggets. Fat sheep again sold freely, the supply in this section being short of the demand. Practically no run-bred cattle came forward. Fat cattle: Several pens of station-bred cows of just medium quality were submitted, these meeting with a slow sale. Fat cows ex the dairy were also slow of sale. Dairy cattle: A heavy yarding of both springing cows and heifers was submitted, and we report practically a total clearance with • values considerably firmer than at last week's fixture. Store and potter cows sold at late rates. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report that a good yarding of all classes of stock came forward for the Feilding sale. In the fat sheep section ewe mutton registered a further rise of about- Is per head on last week's values. Fat lambs and fat wethers sold at about last week's rates. Most of the ewes in lamb yardsd were of low and fail-ing-mouth variety and bidding on these at auction was sticky. . However, practically everything was sold before the close of the day. In the dairy section heifers and cows close to profit were.again in keen demand and sold at improved values. A few pens of station cattle changed hands at prices similar to those of the last sale.
