DOG IN AIRLINER

PLUNGE TO EARTH

ALMOST CAUSE OF DISASTER

SYDNEY,. July 10. A racing greyhound which was being brought from. Brisbane to Sydney in an airliner today nearly caused a major accident en route.

The _ dog apparently did not relish the trip in the aeroplane, in which there were eight passengers. It escaped from its basket crate in the luggage compartment, clawed its way through the aeroplane's fuselage, and either accidentally fell or was hurled 2000 feet-to earth when the aeroplane was over Coff's Harbour, where the pilot felt a sudden interference with the rudder controls, causing the aeroplane to dip perilously and endanger the lives of those aboard.

. The incident soon passed, and when Mascot Aerodrome' was reached a large hole was found in the fuselage and the dog was missing. There was much evidence of two other attempts by the dog to escape.
