OLYMPIC CLUB
The Olympic Harrier Club had a muster of 25 members for its Grand Memorial Race of five miles. Held at Miramar. the race resulted in another win for E. Richardson, who gained fastest time and the Philp pewter po„. The sealed handicap, held in conjunction with the race, was the main event of the day. A. Shaw, a comparatively new member, was first, and won the Philp Cup; H. Patrick was second, winning the Burns Cup. and H. Service, who was third, won the Wnson C Tlie trail led from the Miramar tennis courts, past the the tram terminus to the foot of the hill. After starting, the paper took the runners gradually to | the top of the hills. From there the trail led around the face of the cliil on the seaward side. The runners came out above the oil works, ana a descent was then made on to the roacl. This trail, a distance of 2£ miles, was covered twice.
