MARCONICRAM'S DOUBLE
A coincidence this season was that the winners of both the Melbourne Cup (Marabou) and the Sydney Cup (Contact) are by the same sire, Marconigram. The result was very keen bidding for the Marconigrams at the recent Sydney sales. Marconigram is an imported son or Abbot's Trace ; (son of Tracery)., and his dam, Marcia Blanche, a daughter of Lemberg (winner of the Derby), is a half-sister to the leading Dominion sire, Limond, both being out of Lindal. He was ioaled in 1925, was a winner of high-class races in England, and was imported to Australia by Mr. A. P. Wade in January, 1930. ,He is described as a rich dark bay, with a beautiful skin and dark points, cleancut lean head, wide forehead, full prominent eyes, wide jowls, muscular neck, deep shoulders, strong back and loins, well-sprung ribs, and short legs. He stands over 16 hands and has a faultless' disposition. His oldest progeny, are now only.-iou&-3Mars-(0ldy
