YARINGA'S HALF-BROTHER
Although the form of most of the horses who competed at the Avondale Meeting last week . was well exposed, patrons found the selection of winners very difficult. Only two favourites were successful^ the lb events, and there were some fine dividends. The best price was returned by High Tea, who' showed a pleasing return to winning form. It was only as far back as December that High Tea was operated upon for wind trouble by Dr. W. C.'Hing, and, in view of the fact that he is trained at Whangarei few were aware of his progress. Now four years old, he is a bay gelding by Tea-Tray from the Shepherd King mare Refinement, thus being a half-brother to Mystic Peak (V.R.C. Cantala Stakes, etc.), and this year's West Australian Derby winner Yaringa. and he was secured by Mr. R. W. J. Cuthbert, of Onehunga, for 50 guineas as a yearling.
