MATHIESON'S CASE
FURTHER EFFORT AT DUNEDIN
(Special to the "Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, April 9.
A further effort is being made by the Otago Swimming Centre to gain recognition of the claims of Mathieson for inclusion in the Olympic team. A night letter telegram has been forwarded to the New Zealand Swimming Council by the president of the centre protesting against the council's failure to officially advise the centre of the result of the centre's nomination of Mathieson and to urge that the matter should be reconsidered and the nomination forwarded to the Olympic Council.
.Wide financial support for Mathieson has been promised in Otago. "We have no grouch against the Olympic Association," said the president, "but so far we have not even received the courtesy of a reply from our own swimming council."
