Special forecast for Wellington:— Light to moderate northerly winds. Weather fine and mild, but cloud-

ing over at times.

The general forecast for the Dominion is for easterly to northerly winds north of Kawhia and East Cape, elsewhere northerly, light to moderate generally, but freshening in- the far south, later winds backing to southerlies in southern districts. Weather still mainly fair to fine and mild, but some light scattered rain is likely in the far north and south, and rain developing also in the .western districts of the South Island.

A very slight depression passed over .the southern half of the South Island on Friday, but there has been little change in pressure distribution over the New Zealand area as.a whole. At present an anticyclone extends across the country to the eastwards, while a small depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea.

The weather for the most part has been fair tc fine and'mild, but a few isolated and mostly light showers have occurred, more especially in the far north and south and on the eastern coast. Light to moderate northerly winds have predominated, but since last night directions have become more variable.

Auckland had fine and warm weather on both Thursday and Friday, but there were some light showers during Thursday night and again since last night. North-easterly breezes prevailed, but this morning the direction was south-easterly. '

Though it has been cloudy at times in Wellington the weather has continued to be fine, mild, and pleasant. A light northerly breeze has prevailed, but since last night it has been practically calm. The total sunshine on Thursday was 6.8 hours and on Friday 7.5 hours.

times, on Thursday; a north-east breeze prevailed. It was fine on Friday morning, with a north-west breeze, but became overcast by noon, and at 3.30 p.m. a fresh south-westerly breeze 'sprang up. Last night was foggy and at 9 a.m. conditions were overcast, with an easterly breeze.

Dunedin had dull, misty weather on Thursday with a fresh westerly wind. On Friday the sky was overcast, but the weather was calm; light rain fell during the night.
