VAN STRUCK BY TRAIN

AUCKLAND, December 10.
A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by a boot retailer, Mr. Frederick William Stone, of Mount-Eden, when a light van he was driving was struck by a suburban train at a level crossing at Glen Eden. The motor vehicle was spun completely round, carried 30 feet, and burst into flames, but Mr. Stone, who was the sole occupant,- escaped with burns to the hands and minor cuts on the face.
