BLEDISLOE MEDAL
AWARD IN CANTERBURY

CHRISTCHURCH, December 10.
Mr. G..H. Hblford, B.Sc., Agric, has this year been awarded the Bledisloe" Medal within the award of the board of governors of Canterbury Agricultural College, it was announced at a meeting of the board today. A graduate of the college, Mr. Holfprd has taken a prominent part in the-development of agriculture in New Zealand. He wiil leave Christchurch shortly for the North Island, and many tributes.have been paid to his pioneering work in. experimental irrigation in the province for 17 years. Mr. Holford was chairman of the rural education and : agricultural development committee of the Canterbury Progress League.: • He formed a soil improvement committee that led to the present scheme of fertiliser and crop improvements by the Department of Agriculture and research institutions.
