PRISONER INJURED
SCUFFLE AT MOUNT EDEN

AUCKLAND, December 10. A prisoner at Mount Eden Gaol, Robert. Dixon, aged 49, a married man, received severe injuries to his head, including possible fracture of the skull, when he fell heavily on a concrete floor. The injured man, a labourer, was admitted to Auckland Hospital. His condition is serious.
It is stated that Dixon and another prisoner were engaged in cleaning work inside the prison when a difference arose between them and a scuffle ensued. Dixon struck his head heavily in falling. It was apparent that he had been severely injured and he was removed to the sick bay for attention.
