THREE YEARS' HARD
POST OFFICE FRAUDS
COMMENTS BY JUDGE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day.
Paul Edward Din, for Post Office Savings Bank frauds, was sentenced to three years' hard labour by Mr. Justice Fair today.
Counsel for prisoner, Mr. R. Moody, referred to similar cases where probation had been granted.
The Judge said there must have been exceptional circumstances in those cases.
"The offences in this case were planned cunningly and carried out on bold lines," said his Honour. "It is apparent that the desire was to live a life of luxury and comfort at the expense of other people."
