ECONOMIC COMMITTEE

NEED FOR INCREASE

(Received October 19, 10;10 aon.) LONDON, October 18. The report of the Imperial Economic Committee, surveying work done sines it was established in 1033, points ou; that the committee is in'the fullest sense imperial, as it is controlled and financed by ail parts of the Empire and examines and reports on any economic question the Governments of the Empire may request and supplies economic intelligence which is valuable to all the Dominions. The staff includes a large proportion of people from the Dominions.

The Government contributions onr which the committee depends cease ia September, 1936. The committee there* fore requests the Governments to continue their contributions on the present scale, subject t6 examination by. the Imperial Conference. If no examination is made before 1937 the committee may be obliged to draw attention to the need for some increase in. the contributions.
