MISTAKE IN DIVIDEND
Owing to a mistake in the paying out of winning totalisator dividends on the last race at Murray Bridge (South Australia) on June 29, considerably more than should have been paid was distributed to ticket-holders.
The tickets issued on the winner, Pengrange, totalled 485, and on the dividends being calculated it was found that Pengrange's return for 2s was 4s 3d. This dividend was subsequently checked by a constable, who found it to be correct. It is understood that when the dividend . was transferred to the pay-out, sheets it was inadvertently stated as 8s 3d instead of 4s 3d.
