GOODS TRAIN DELAYED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
HASTINGS, This Day.
The Wellington-Napier night goods train, which usually arrives at Hastings about 6.30 a.m., was delayed for several hours this morning by a slip on the Irne near Makdtuku. It eventually reached here about noon, the slip having been quickly cleared during the morning. The ground alongside cuttings on the line had been loosened by heavy rains and a considerable quantity of soil fell across the line.
