EASTBOURNE
The Eastbourne branch of the League of Mothers held its monthly meeting recently, when Mrs. Shearer presided. The speaker for the afternoon, Mrs. Lundius, president of the Hataitai branch, gave some interesting reminis; cences of a visit to the backblocks of Australia—while Mrs. Fraser-Tytler, accompanied by Miss Nixon, supplied the musical part of the programme, singing two songs delightfully.. Both ladies were accorded a hearty vote of thanks, and presented with flowers, charmingly arranged by Mrs. Bowie, a committee member. During the serving of afternoon tea, members gathered into friendly groups for talk, and the very pleasant meeting was enjoyed by all.
