NGAIO
Over eighty members and friends of the Ngaio branch of the League of Mothers met in the Ngaio Town.Hall recently, when the Rev. W. S. Rollings gave an address on one of the ideals of the league, namely, "The Sanctity of Marriage." The speaker showed how the life of a nation grew • out of the home life of its people and how necessary it was that the marriage bond should be regarded as sacred. The duties of parents in preparing their children for entering adolescent and adult life was stressed and also the fact that knowledge rather than ignorance is the guardian of virtue. The soloist for the afternoon was Mrs. Nicholson, and Mrs. Theo. Hills contributed elocutionary items, both ladies receiving posies. Mrs. Davey, the honorary pianist of the branch, who provides incidental music at each meeting, was also the recipient of a posy as a mark of appreciation. Greetings were given by branch representatives from Island Bay and Khandallah.
