FINE WEATHER
AND WARM TEMPERATURES
Special forecast for Wellington:-— Light to moderate, but later freshening, northerly winds. ' Weather fair to fine and warm.
, The general forecast issued at noon, today for the Dominion as a whole is for light to moderate and somewhat variable winds. . Southerlies will predominate'at first, but northerlies may be expected later except in the; far north. The weather will bo fair to fine, but scattered rain is probable later in Westland and in the far south.
The last of the recent aeries of westerly depressions passed away eastward last night, and since then an anticyclone has extended from the Tasman Sea on to the Dominion. Consequently yesterday^s winds, which were moderate to strong north-westerlies, have decreased lin forco and have become more variable in direction. A few isolated showers have fallen in the west coast districts of the South Island, but the weather otherwise has been fair to toe with moderate temperatures. * ' Pine and warm weather with a light southerly wind continues in Auckland. Wellington had a fine day yesterday with a northerly breeze, hours of bright sunshino totalling 13.4. The Weather at 9 a.m. today was overcast but warm and pleasant, With a light wind from the north.
Christchurch had a fine and warm day, the maximum temperature being one of 80.7 degrees. A light north-east, erly wind prevailed, but this changed about 7 p.m. to a light south-westerly, the weather remaining fine. In Dunedin fine and clear weather has prevailed with very little wind.
