CHRIBTCHURCH, This Day.
One of the largest meetings of Christchurch master tailors held here for many years discussed what was considered to bo the unfairness of th» sales tax as it applied to the tailoring trade. ...
After a discussion, based upon the attitude " being adopted by ' Dunedin tailors, the following motion was carried:—"That a letter bo sent to the Government stating that the tailoring firms represented at this meeting have decided to furnish returns t the Customs Department as required bylaw, but that no further tax be paid pending reconsideration by the Minister as promised to the Dunedin tailoring trade committee/' •
Tho Dunedin tailors have refused to pay any further sales tax because of tho alleged discrimination against them*
