MOTION OF DISAPPROVAL

CARTERTON, This Day. As a- Tcsult of the Unemployment Board's decision placing unemployed in the Carterton, Grcyt&wn, Featherston, and Martinborough areas on sustenance wages, thus virtually ending the No. 5 schemo except as far as Natives are concerned, a meeting of the Carterton Borough Council last night protested against the decision, feeling that the sustenance schemo was inimical to tho object of enabling the men to seek private employment and thus bo enabled to become permanently independent from relief.
