A feature of the agreement- is that experiment will be made with a, 40-hour week in the car-shed section, the reduc> tion of hours being accompanied by. increased pay. i The experiment'' is tho first of the kind in New Zealand and will be followed with kcen; interest.
The increases iri pay range from -Jd to 2£d an hour. ' Conductors will get Is Old, an: additional penny an hour, and all motormen Is IOJd, with no extra pay for trolley-bus drivers. Permanent .way men will receive Is lOd. an hour.. Holidays have been increased-in several departments.
