SIRE OF ROMAN SPEAR
Spearmint's son Spearhead, whose latest successes have been gained with Saturday's Warwick Farm Campbelltown Handicap winner Roman Spear, is maintaining bis position as the leading descendant of the Carbine line in Australia, and, as his progeny have won over £120,000 in prize-money during the past nine years, ho has\ secured: a good place oh the winning sires* list. Cyklon, another son of Spearmint, whosired Trivalve, a winner of £26,320 in stakes,, claimed a higli-clafie performer in tbo- season of 1927-28, but in the interval his progeny have been mostly of the moderate stamp. Cyklon died in Victoria a few months ago.
