BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE

Tho secretary of the Wellington Blood Transfusion Society • reports that from January 6 until tho present timo there have been 59 calls for volunteers for cases of blood transfusion, an increase of 10 since the last circular was issued. Of tho calls made, 45 wero for cases in the Wellington Hospital, ana 14 for private hospitals. The society acknowledges its indebtedness to tho hospital stair1 for their courteous attention and co-operation, which has resulted in the smooth working of an important life-saving community work. To Dr. H. B. Ewen (medical superintendent) and to the sister-in-charge, main theatre, and Mr. R. A. Witt, of the staff, the thanks of tho society are extended. ■
