GRADE COMPETITIONS

Tho winner? of club competitions were announced at last evening's meeting of the management-committee ot the Y\ ellington Hockey Association as follows:— Senior A, Karori A; third, Technical; fourth, Karori; intermediate, JLccanical \ It was stated that Technical were easy winners of the club championship. Arrangements were made to close the senior B and junior competitions next Saturday. Iv the senior B grade -technical, with 23 poiuts, will meet University \, with 22 points, the next team on tho Ladder, who have played one game less. Technical have a lead of three points over Karori in tho junior grade, and these two teams will be drawn to meet on Saturday. Karori have a postponed game still to play, and this will have' to be decided it Technical are beaten. . .

It was decided to send a junior representative team to play a Wanganui team at Wanganui on September 8. A letter was received from the Horowhenua Association regretting inability to send a- representative team to Wellington this season.

Other representative matches were arranged as follows:—Versus Wairarapa, at Wellington, September 1; versus Taranaki, at Wellington, September 8. Permission was granted for the following special fixtures:—Hutt Club, Stoup Cup (past players versus present players), September 8; Methodist Bible Class Union, annual six-ajside tourney, September 8; Wesley Club, Phillpotts Cup challenge match, Wellington versus Wangauui, at Wellington, September 8.

Wesley, playing with only ten men, several of whom were from the lower grades, put up a good fight against Technical, the leaders in the competition, on Saturday, and were not disgraced by the score of 5 goals to 2 against them. The game was by no means one-sided, although the result was more or less a foregone conclusion.
