HEAVY FIRE LOSSES AT HOME

RUGBY, August 8.
Exceptionally heavy fire losses in Great Britain aud Ireland last month were to a largo extent attributable to the dry weather and water shortage.
Serious outbreaks arc estimated to have involved losses of' £735,400, and wlien -tlio cost of minor outbreaks- is added, the month's total of five losses will probably cseced SIJ-WfiOO.
