ST. THOMAS' GUIDES
St. Thomas' Hall, Newtown, presented a pretty scene on Wednesday evon!ing, when:the St. Thomas'- Guide committee held an enjoyable dance. A canopy of rainbow-coloured streamers hung from the .centre of the ceiling, and the pretty coloured frocks of the dancers added to the gaiety of the scene. ' • ■'-,''
A popular dance programme was rendered by Steel's "Melody Makers," and Mr. V. Morris was M.O. Mr. and Mrs. Sherring were tho only couple to complete "the Mystery Hike," arriving at Gummie's Bush in record time. The ever-popular "Monte Carlo" was won by Mr. W.MeCrea and Mise Green. A delicious home-made "wagon" supger was wheeled round. •- ::
For non-dancers cards were provided, Mrs. Cunningham winning the la'diesj prize and Mr. Soper the gentlemen/s. Mr. ' Southern Colledgo and Miss-pM. Waterhouse (in silver lame with. pink georgette inserted frills) gave an exhibition of dancing, which was much ap; preciated. - Mr. V. Sutherland played the extras. ■ -.- ' .-. ".-•■ ■ '. ;
The ladies responsible for the succoss of the dance were Mesdames Fry (who wore black velvet with ermine trimming), Cooper (navy mariette and lace), Collins (figured silk), Soper (green satin), Moulynox (bluo marocain), Hands (black, lace), E. Sixsmith (black lace). Buck, Browning, Harrington, Webber, and Misses V. Moulynox (black velvet), and E. Green (green velvet). — Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Sherring, Mr. and Mrs. Dudley, Mr. and Mrs. Hollick, Mr. and Mrs. Cuniiiiijjli:ini. Mosihiuirs MeTnr.lnne, Cro^s.
