CAY NIGHT AT Y.W.C.A. >.

The first 'open club night" Of tn* Y.W.C. A. Physical Arts Club last evening was well attended. During the past four weeks, since the formation of tho various circles (gymuasrum, skating, tap-dancing, ballroom and Grecian dancing) a large number of enrolments have been received, and the gymnasium' floor has been used constantly almost every, evening. Tho purpose of the monthly club night is to bring the members of the circles together, to share with each other the skills which they are acquiring, and to establish' a spirit of good fellowship throughout the club.

An attractive programme was presented by a committee composed of girls-from each circle. Miss Nancy Babe delivered :aii in* teresting talk on the history' of darieing, oxplaining a little of the origin of the various forms wliich are iibW most usual. She also gavo a demonstration of tap dancing. A group of her class then supplied an. exhibition of their f our-Sveeks' lessons. A - most interesting ami amusing eccentric dance in costume was given by Miss Mavis Podds (pupil of Miss Babe).'' ' Next followed a beautiful Greciaa dance byjMiss Muriel Wilton (who explained the story and inner ineaning of tho dance. A half-hour of "stunts,' 1' songs, and competitions was much enjoyed, after which Miss Marjorie Murray delighted the audience with a graceful display of skating, demonstrating the waltz, the two-step, and several other intricate movements.

A light supper and informal dancing brought a happy evening to a close. The pianiste for the evening was Misa Molly Withers, and the programme was in charge of Miss A. McCrea, activities secretary of the Y.WIC.A.
