THE FRENCH CLUB
A POPULAR PLAY
The meeting of the French Club held in tho Pioneer Club rooms last night was a particularly pleasant one. Mrs. Findlayson and Mrs. Toung, assisted by Miss E. Huntingdon, arranged the programme. The proceedings, as usual, commenced with the Trench conversation circle from 7.30 until 8 p.m. Mr. L. Eskrigg sang several dolightful solos, accompanied by Mrs. Ehkrigg. The second half of tho programme was taken up by .the play "Topaze? 1 by Marcel Pagnol. It has enjoyed a considerable amount of popularity abroad, and much interest was evinced in its presentation. ■ ■ The part of "Topaze" was played by Professor Boyd Wilson, and the cast included Mrs. Young, Mrs. R. Findlayson, Mde. Dechanet Mclntosh, Miss F. Huntington, Mr. A. Thorn, Dr. Keys, Mr. F. F. Miles, Mr. M. -Brown, aad-students of Wellington College. ■ ', Supper, followed by. tho, singing of tho "Marseillaise," concluded aii enjoyable meeting. , ' - •
