NORTH ISLAND TOURNEY

GOOD PROGRESS MADE

Good pvogret-s was made in the North Island badminton championship tournament at the Winter Show building last evening. Semi-finals were reached in, the majority of the championship events. The standard of play iv most sections has been high to date and, with the elimination of j weaker players, the remainder of the games | this evening and tomorrow evening a);e certain to bo fought out with considerable interest. . The scmi-finalistH for the men's championship singles are J.. Vaughan, H. D. Reid, and JN1.. Hull-Brown, and in the women's singles the semi-finalists are Misses J. Treloar, C. Phillips, V. Gray, and N. Morgan. ' Arrangements have been made tor C grade games to be played in the Sydney Street Hall this evening. All other events will take place in the Winter Show buildings.
